How to order from the WEB : A shopping cart program is in the works soon, but for the time being type your order, offer or your bid and send it to us via e-mail to webmaster@westcoastcomics.com Take note that anything currently being sold through another company's web site such as e-bay will be temporarily unavailable for sale until the auction on that site is finished, and if the collection sells through that web site, the price that it sells for is the price, even if you have made an offer to us and it is more than the sell price on the auction site, the other customer will get the collection. So if a collection is up for sale on an auction site and you would like to buy it you must bid through that auction site. All collections of this nature will have a large notice on the collections page and hopefully a link to that particular auction.

PRICING: All prices will be listed in AUD (Australian Dollars) and I will also attempt to list all of the prices in USD (United States Dollars) however all prices are subject to change without notice and at any time. This is mainly because of the exchange rate between the USA and Australia constantly going up and down. So, if in doubt send me an e-mail and I can confirm the price for you. I can also give an item price in UK Pounds & Euros.

POSTAGE COSTS : This section and information page seriously needs to be updated as we have changed our basic business from bulk collections to single order items and the postage information listed here is for bulk orders only. I will update this page soon. For the moment please e-mail me with your specific question. Thankyou.

When you order a collection you will only be charged what it costs to post and package your order to you. There is no handling charge. We have done our very best to estimate the cost of postage and packaging and have even listed the Insurance rates if you wish to insure the collection. E-Mail or Post us your order and for the moment Post us an Australian Bank Cheque, Australian Money Order, or Australian Postal Order and we will process your order ASAP. As soon as a better way of transferring funds is available it also will be listed here.( We are at the moment working on VISA, Master Card, AMEX, and the like but it is not ready yet.)

Personal Cheques are also acceptable, but your order can not be shipped to you until your cheque has been cleared. This can take 5-10 working days depending on the bank involved and does tend to slow the process down a lot. It takes even longer for Foreign cheques. The Banks have recently introduced a 3 day turn around on Cheques clearing but, we shall see if that is the case. As soon as your cheque clears the order is shipped.

LAY-BY & HOLDING : There is no holding , or lay-by. All items must be paid for in full, and will be processed on a "first come, first served" basis. e-mail is processed in the order it arrives and post office mail once a day.

WANT LISTS: We do not service want lists at this time but we may add this to the WEB Site at a later time. For the moment we only deal in Collections of Items: Comic Books, Posters, Prints, ect.....

SOLD OUT !: Every Collection listed on this Web site we have in stock at the time of going live on the Internet. We hope to update daily the collections we no longer have in stock, and add those Collections that have come in - This may be an impossible goal. But, If we don’t have it, we won't list it. So, the faster you order the more likely it is that you will get what you want ! We are a " First Come, First Served " Internet shop.

Any and all credit from our old Retail business is still valid and is valid for life, valid on all items, valid for all discounts but IS NOT VALID FOR POSTAGE. For old Comic Shop credit just send us your name and current postal address and we will send you a credit slip with your existing credit balance on it if you have any. Not many people have any credit left.

GRADING COMIC BOOKS For the purpose of this web site it is necessary to simplify grading so that everyone can understand at a glance the price and condition of a comic or Item. In most cases the price of a book is based on its popularity and collector Interest. ALL comics should be bought for the reading enjoyment. Obviously it is satisfying to collect a run of comics you enjoy in the best possible condition, to keep and read again. This is the entire point of collecting comic books. There are four different grades of comic book that we will deal with in this on line collections list: Near Mint, Very Good, Good, & Poor.

NEAR MINT (NM) 85-100% ( of "off the printing press" condition ) Like new, better than the average newsagent comic. A collector’s comic. May have slight loss of luster depending on the age. May have slight off center cover or slight off center staples. May have pencil price on the inside front page. May have very slight color fading depending on age. May have defects but any defects must be minor.

VERY GOOD (VG) 55-85% That annoying, not quite Mint comic that is really worth having and is definitely collectable but, this or that defect make it a Very Good. A desirable copy, usually a single inconspicuous bit of damage like a crease or small mark or a small clean bit of writing on the cover. Nothing too bad.

GOOD (G) 30-55% A regular newsagent copy. Pen marks or texta marks or sticker residue or a person’s name written on the comic. Usually one thing that beyond a reasonable doubt makes it a good condition comic. No panels or pages missing. Not soiled by paint, dirt or unknown substances. May have slight tears or slight creases or rolled spine, but no heavy duty damage. No brittleness to the pages. In some cases may have a loose page. An acceptable, perfectly readable copy.

POOR (P) 8-30% The Reader’s Copy. Damaged. Not a collectable copy unless it is old or very hard to get. Some comics exist only in poor condition because of the poor printing or low-grade paper that was used to make the comic in the first place. And of course the older a comic becomes the more it tends to deteriorate. ( 2000AD is a good example - Very few copies exist in NM even off the printing press! Most are at best VG and then once they have been through a regular Newsagent 90% of them are Good. Having said that, I once found a Pristine Mint copy of number 1. )

GRADING ALL OTHER ITEMS The basics of the above will be applied to all other items listed in the Collections: NM, VG, G, P, You may ask for an item in the collection to be scanned and e-mailed to you, or photographed and e-mailed to you and as long as that collection has not already SOLD then we will gladly do that for you. However it would take us far too long to photograph or scan every item in a collection - So please do not ask us to do that!. And it could take some time to scan some items so please be very patient with us, as we all have an enormous amount of work to do. Have fun, look around and come back anytime.
