Comic book fan sites from Australia

This site is dedicated to the many fans of the many different things. There are fans of just about everything including barb-wire, not that we have a site on barb-wire here (yet?), but you get the idea. We will be concentrating on the fans of media, characters and creators.

Basically this site is for people to make fan based pages on many different subjects, like the Avengers comic, the Avengers TV show, Doctor who, Ian Fleming, John Byrne, the Phantom and so on. The creations do not have to be Australian but the idea is that the person writing the article is Australian (or at the very least living in Australia.) I will be asking the big fans of the various subjects to donate there time and effort to writing items, articles, information and if I can con them into a bit of artwork here and there so much the better. I may even re-print the entire original West Coast Comics Fanzine run. If I can find any of the original art around here or if anyone is at all interested. It was a great time, many years ago. It will be like going home for some of you and an introduction for hopefully many, many new people. All are welcome here. There will be no rude or adult material at all on any of these sites and I will personally edit everything and only upload what I consider to be in good taste. since I wish this site to be available to children as well as adults. Apart from that, all opinions, statements and information is that of the writer and I take no responsibility for those opinions, judgements, statements, or information whatsoever. however if you note something obviously wrong do let me know and I will attempt to let the author correct it. ( or I can always put up the opposing opinion of the person who writes in? Who knows that in it self could be very interesting.)

These fan pages have been created to help people familiarise themselves with the various characters created in films, books, comics, comic strips, video, television, graphic novels, newspapers, on-line and all other mediums. Fan pages of the various creators (like Jack Kirby), artists, writers, actors, directors, publishers and all their many characters such as the X-Men, Peanuts, James Bond, The Prisoner, and more will be covered. And of course fan pages for the various art forms and mediums like newspaper comic strips, commando digests, Harvey comics, Marvel comics, DC comics, Heavy Metal magazine, and whatever else is out there that interests Australian fans.   

This site is the equivalent of an on-line fanzine. Submissions to this site from various fans of various mediums are solicited solely by us here at Au Comics and our sister site www.augems.com this is designed to give us the maximum amount of free web space. As no one gets paid any money for any of the articles on these sites and Au Comics makes no money at all we are very, very grateful to the effort of those few who donate there time and energy! If anyone out there knows of some FREE web space inside Australia let me know as we could use an .au address (it seems crazy to promote Australian fans and comics and to have to use free space in the USA) Any how we shall start small and hopefully grow grow grow!!! 

And here to kick us off is one of my all time favourites who are at the moment bigger than big we welcome you all to our X-Men fan site and pulling in just under the wire the Peanuts homepage. Also check out the great Jack Kirby fan site also run by an Australian ( I am SO! I can call myself an Australian as I have become an Australian citizen.) Check us out and let me know what you think!
