PayPal information

This information about PayPal and the Shopping cart program is written by Tom of West Coast Comics. It is meant as a guide only, and as such, West Coast Comics does not accept any responsibility at all if anything written about PayPal is wrong, or if PayPal changes anything, making this information misleading in any way. When in doubt go to www.paypal.com and look up the information on the program's help files. Having said that, I will try to make this guide as user friendly and informative as I can. I find PayPal to be very easy to use and very reliable. (so far) For the purpose of this program and my website, it is recommended that you use Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x or 5.x, as that is what the site has been tested on whilst building. You can click on HELP / About on your browser to find out what version you are using. When you click on a

On the Shopping Cart screen you can specify how many of an item you would like, by changing the number in the Qty box. Please check to see if there is more than one available. This can be found in the amount column on the web site, in the line after the condition/grade. You should check this before you order it, as with a lot of the items listed I may only have one copy. Note, that if you do accidentally order something that we have only one of, or that has sold out, I will e-mail you and you may use that credit on another item. I fully intend to update the website every day, and delete the PayPal buttons of the items that have sold out, as they sell. |

At the time of this writing (Sept 2001)
everything listed on the Web site is still up for sale, unless a sold

Perhaps if your screen is not big enough, you could still have the PayPal screen slightly underneath, but accessible like this: (see the above picture.) |

This means that you can click back and forth from both the PayPal screen and the West Coast Comics screen. If you get cut off, lose your Internet connection, or only get part way through the order and have to go, PayPal will remember where you were up to, and you can start again from that point. I have also found that you can play around with the order, adding and removing as much as you like, and PayPal never crashes (so far). Tick the Remove box if you wish to delete an item, and then hit the Update button to generate your new up dated order. As a matter of interest any of the pop ups that "pop up" on your screen from the host provider can be shut down by clicking on the x in the top corner as soon as they appear. Believe me after a while you won't even notice that they are there and it does allow this site to be "Free". ( I do not get any revenue from the advertising that pops up on my site and I do not benefit in any way from customers clicking on any pop up.) |

Note: The subtotal is the actual price of all of the items you have ordered. It does not include postage. The Handling charge is actually the postage. And the Shipping costs when you go to the check out will be nil. ZERO.I have found that most customers prefer to know how much the postage is before they get to the checkout, so that is why the postage is listed in the handling box. There is no TAX on anything, as most of the sales are overseas, and as all of the products belong to me privately, there is no G.S.T. |
|
There is no extra Postage fee added when you get to the checkout so don't worry about that! NOTE: Selecting No Frame on the Posters and Prints stock page may help if you system is having any difficulties. No Frame should also stop PayPal from throwing up multitudes of duplicate carts. |

At
this point (on my computer) the continue shopping button appears to do
nothing at all. If you find that you get multiple copies of the PayPal
shopping trolley popping up, it is safe to kill them by clicking the X in
the top right hand corner, However I do recommend book marking the page
that you are interested in. Say for example you are interested in
Posters then book marking the posters page that you are browsing on will
help if your browser crashes or gets shut down accidentally. There is always a |

Without trying to labor the point here I would just like to point out once again that there is no Shipping charge added to your purchase after the first screen of the PayPal shopping cart. The price you see in underlined blue is the total fee including: the item, the postage, the packaging and the Insurance on that item. The handling fee you see listed underneath is part of the price and has already been included. If for example: a poster is listed at a cost of $ 311.00 USD and the Handling is listed at $ 21.00 then the subtotal should be $ 290.00 and the total price that you will pay is $ 311.00 USD ( 290+21=311) USD = United states dollars AUD = Australian Dollars
Thank you and I hope this helps you ! Feel free to e-mail me if you need any other help. My name is Ralph Pay webmaster@westcoastcomics.com |
