West Coast Comics / www.thecomicshop.com.au has joined the Comics Guarantee Company of professional comics graders and can now offer all of the professional services of the CGC to customers right here in Australia! As well as continuing to offer our own standard cataloguing and grading service.

Level One:  WCC basic Grading & Bagging service
Your standard collection grading service. (Not the CGC) We list the comic books in your collection and grade them for you in six basic grades (NM, Very Fine, Very Good, Good, Poor or Very Poor) Each comic is then bagged in a standard comic bag and a grade sticker is placed on the bag. You also receive an evaluation appraisal document detailing the price as listed in the CBPG (Official Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide) in USD. Cost: The minimum charge is $66.00 AUD including GST for up to 20 comics. You must also cover all of the return postage costs to get your collection back to you. See all of the details listed below: AUD = Australian Dollars. You need do nothing special to send me your comics for the basic grading and bagging service, simply package up your comics as best you can and post them to me at: The Comic Shop P.O. Box 344 Garbutt East, Queensland, Australia 4814 Phone: 040-392-8543. Please make sure that you have included payment in Australian Dollars via Australia Post Money Order, Cash, Cheque, or Direct Deposit.

1-20    comics  $ 66.00 AUD    + $ 9.00 for return postage
21-40   comics  $132.00 AUD    + $ 9.00 for return postage
41-75   comics  $  3.00 each   + $18.00 for return postage
76-120+ comics  $  2.00 each   + $27.00 for return postage

Level Two: WCC Premium Grading & Bagging service
This is the same service as above (Not the CGC) but we also use an acid free backing board with each of your comics. Which is highly recommended! Simply add $1.00 AUD per comic. There are no minimums or maximums with this service. For example if you would like us to add boards to 10 comics then it would be $10 extra.

For Example: You would like us to grade, bag and board 10 comics for you? The price would be $66 +$10 +$9 = $85 AUD.

Another Example: You would like us to grade, bag and board 100 comics for you? The price would be (100 x $2) + $100 + $27 = $327 AUD.

In the first example it works out to $8.40 per issue and in the second it works out to $3.20 AUD per issue. Obviously the more you have done the cheaper it becomes!

How long does the CGC service take?
The time can vary quite a bit but, the average is 60-90 days. If you expect it to take three months then you should be pleasantly surprised. If on the other hand you expect it to take 40 days then you will be very disappointed. The last order took 83 days in total round trip. ( to the USA and then back to Australia..)
 

What are the different types of grading?
There are 4 separate grading price schedules for the CGC depending on a few factors. The end result however is the same. There are two separate price schedules for the WCC grading depending on what service you would like. Each service is progressively more expensive than the one before.
