Our Standard Comic Board
The standard backing board that WCC (West Coast Comics) uses for the Premium grading, bagging& boarding service is a CDS (Comic Defence System) all white 24-pt virgin material backing board that is acid free on both sides and is rigid for extra protection. This board can used for any comic up to 7" x 10½" in size. This is the perfect backing board for the CDS Silver Age size bag (details on our standard bag above). See example.

Our Standard Tape
Even the tape that we use is better than the average sticky tape! WCC uses Scotch Magic Tape which is lower in acid than regular tape and makes for easy opening and secure sealing of the comic. Scotch 827 AUS Magic Tape 12.7mm wide. Beware that other types of sticky tape can burn right through a plastic bag and into a comic. I have seen this on customers comics many times! It is very easy to check for this problem with your own collection, simply pick a comic that has been bagged for over 6 months and open the tape. Does the sticky tape tear into the plastic? or is there substantial yellowing underneath the tape? If you can clearly see where the tape has been on the plastic bag then you need to switch to a better grade of tape. If there is substantial yellowing of the plastic bag then you also need to switch to a better grade of plastic bag.
